Jeffrey S. Hamamoto
Biography
Jeffrey S. Hamamoto’s practice includes taxation, estate planning and administration, business succession planning, family businesses, charitable planning, and tax-exempt organizations.
Jeffrey regularly creates sophisticated estate plans involving various wealth transfer techniques for a variety of purposes such as transfer tax planning, businesses succession planning, charitable tax planning and state and local tax planning. His trust and estate settlement experience includes representing fiduciaries and beneficiaries during the post-mortem administration of trusts, probate administration and litigation, estate tax reporting, and assisting with the transfer and reporting of U.S. holdings by foreign decedents.
Jeffrey also frequently advises clients in personal and business income tax matters, such as federal and state income taxes and local taxes. He also represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service, California Franchise Tax Board, State Board of Equalization and property tax appeals boards. In addition to domestic tax planning, he advises foreign taxpayers and entities with cross border tax planning, including the structuring of U.S. investments for income and transfer tax purposes.
Jeffrey’s lengthy and diverse experience has enabled him to represent clients in diverse industries, which include retail, manufacturing, aerospace, nonprofits, real estate, restaurants, professional sports, and telecommunications.
In his free time, Jeffrey enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, cycling, running and watching favorite Los Angeles sports teams.
